7 Last Minute Tips on How To Get Glowing Skin Before Christmas: The Ultimate Holiday Skincare Routine for Every Woman

The holiday season is magical, but for busy women, it can also wreak havoc on our skin. Late nights, holiday parties, travel, cold weather, hot weather, depending on where you are, and the stress of juggling work, family, and social events can leave your skin dull, dry, and tired. Many of us women don’t find the time for a skincare routine. But don’t worry. I am here with a holiday skincare routine that can help you maintain your glow and feel confident throughout the season.

In this post, you’ll discover 7 proven tips on how to get glowing skin before Christmas. Each tip is actionable, realistic, and designed specifically for women who are balancing multiple roles. By the end of this guide, you’ll not only have radiant skin for the holidays but also a sustainable holiday skincare routine that carries into the New Year.

Why You Need a Holiday Skincare Routine

The holidays can be stressful on our purses, schedules, and kitchens. And let’s not forget it’s when we usually indulge in different foods that can affect our skin’s appearance. This is why establishing a holiday skincare routine is essential. It ensures that your skin is protected, hydrated, and glowing, even when your schedule is packed and you can’t afford to add a skincare routine to it.

Tip 1: Start with a Clean Slate

I know many people would think that everyone should know this, but I must say it. A glowing complexion always begins with proper cleansing. Begin your holiday skincare routine by thoroughly cleansing your face every morning and night. You can achieve this by using a gentle daily cleanser that suits your skin type. Double cleansing your face in the evening is especially important if you wear makeup or sunscreen.

Clean skin allows serums, moisturizers, and other treatments to penetrate effectively into your skin and work their magic on you.

Tip 2: Hydrate Inside and Out

In order to achieve a glowing skin before Christmas, one must understand that hydration is key to radiant skin. Drink plenty of fruity water throughout the day to keep your skin hydrated from the inside. Then apply a hydrating toner, essence, or lightweight serum to maintain moisture on your skin.

This step is critical in any holiday skincare routine, especially since the cold winter air and indoor heating can dry out your skin. Staying hydrated is one of the simplest ways to get glowing skin before Christmas.

Tip 3: Exfoliate to Reveal Radiance

One of my favorite steps in getting a beautiful and glowing skin is exfoliating. When we exfoliate our skin, we remove the dead skin cells that make our skin rough and tougher to allowing the products to go into our skin. Exfoliation promotes a smoother, softer, and brighter complexion.

There are many types of exfoliation, but you can use a homemade body scrub 1-2 times per week, which I recommend.

If you are really keen on getting a glowing skin before Christmas, exfoliation as a skincare routine is your secret weapon. Don’t skip this step, as it is essential in a holiday skincare routine for every busy woman.

Tip 4: Incorporate Natural Body Oils

In order to achieve glowing skin, you must incorporate natural body oils that contain Vitamin C, A, retinol, and other brightening ingredients. They can help reduce dullness, dark spots, uneven skin tone, and signs of ageing. To get the best results of your holiday skincare routine, apply your body oils in the morning after cleansing and using your body scrubs in the shower, and watch your skin get smoother and shinier in a week.

Tip 5: Use a Luxurious Mask

For your skincare routine, once or twice a week, treat yourself to a sheet mask, clay mask, or overnight mask. This step rejuvenates your skin, delivering a concentrated boost of hydration and nutrients.

If you’re asking how to get glowing skin before Christmas, masks can make a noticeable difference in just one session. They’re also a relaxing way to care for yourself amidst the holiday hustle. It’s a perfect holiday skincare routine for busy women. You can easily apply your facial mask in a minute and continue your work around the house.

Tip 6: Watch Your Diet

I am sure you have heard the statement, “You’re what you eat.”  Nothing can be truer than that. What you eat reflects on your skin. I know we all have our vices and guilty pleasures. And with all the numerous recipes online that focus on sweetness and use lots of processed sugar, it can be hard to skip the sugar. Honestly, I can’t imagine baking for my family with a whole cup of sugar in a single recipe. How people have managed to do that for years is a mystery to me. And especially this Christmas, all of the snacks and baking recipes will be full of sugar in various forms. However, you can opt out of that and learn how to make healthy recipes for you and your family that are still fun, indulgent, but minimal. It starts with reducing the sugar content by half in every recipe. Slowly, your and your family’s taste buds will adjust to less sugar in no time.

Also, reduce processed foods and alcohol while increasing your fruits, vegetables, proteins, and healthy fats. For example, if you and your family frequently buy bulk quantities of Diet Coke, or other canned drinks, stop buying them and go to the store and get yourself lots of fruits that you can make fresh fruit juices for your family. These fresh fruit juices are healthier for your skin, hair, and the overall family’s health. Drink or eat lots of antioxidant-rich foods, which will help combat inflammation and promote a natural glow.

Diet is key in your holiday skincare routine and essential to getting glowing skin before Christmas.

Tip 7: Prioritize Your Beauty Sleep

How many times have we heard the phrase “Beauty Sleep”, yet we think it’s only a term that applies to wealthy women or celebrities? Beauty sleep is an essential part of every woman’s skincare and hair care routines. Without prioritizing your beauty sleep, you might as well just forget about getting beautiful skin. I’m sorry, but I must say this.

Lack of sleep affects your skin’s ability to repair itself. We should aim for 8-9 hours per night. Yes, 9 hours. The more sleep you get, the better your skin shines. That means putting your phone away early and getting into your bed so that you can get a quicker head start. Adequate rest reduces puffiness, dark circles, and dullness to your skin, and it also helps your hair grow healthier.

Tip 8: Maintain Consistency

You can’t start a routine this Christmas and not continue it throughout the year. Consistency is more important than perfection. Whatever routine you choose to stick with must be followed consistently. Consistency ensures your glow lasts beyond a single event and forms the foundation for radiant skin into the New Year and always.

Gift Yourself Sleep This Holiday Season

Like I mentioned in Tip 7, Beauty sleep is an essential part of every woman’s hair care and skincare routines. We can discuss moisturizers, masks, serums, and brightening treatments all day, but nothing, absolutely nothing, works as powerfully, consistently, or with as high a quality as high-quality sleep. Personally, when I have a big day where I have to do makeup, or just a day like a photoshoot or video shoot, I take an hour or two nap before I can get ready for that. It makes my skin silkier, smoother, and freer. That’s what a good sleep does to your skin. During deep sleep, your skin goes into repair mode:

  • Collagen production spikes, helping your skin to stay plump and youthful.
  • Cellular repair reduces fine lines, dark spots, and inflammation.
  • Your body flushes out toxins, which otherwise dull your complexion.
  • Your hormone balances, which control stress-related breakouts.

So if you’ve been wondering how to get glowing skin before Christmas, sleep isn’t just an afterthought; it’s the very foundation of it.

Why You Must Gift This to Yourself Even If No One Gives It To You

If you’re anything like me, or almost every woman out there, you spend the holidays giving to everyone else but yourself. I am here to say, Girl, it’s time to prioritize yourself. This pre-Christmas gift isn’t selfish or wasteful; it’s essential to your growth and wellbeing. Remember, we can never give from an empty cup, or we can never give what we don’t have. You must first pour into yourself to be able to give love and care back to others. For you to be your best self this holiday, you must gift yourself something that makes a difference. When you do this,

  • You’ll sleep better, and better sleep = better skin, hair, and overall health.
  • You’ll wake up energized, confident, and ready for the festive chaos.
  • Your mind will be calmer, your stress lower, and your mood brighter.
  • Combined with the Printable self-care journal and the Printable Daily Commands Prayer Cards: Speak To Your Day,  you and everyone will see visible results in your glow, energy, mindset, and outlook on life.

Honestly, I can’t recommend it enough. Not having Sleep & Beyond beddings and skipping the Printable self-care journal, and Printable Daily Commands Prayer Cards: Speak To Your Day is like skipping step one of your holiday skincare routine. You can do all the serums, masks, and exfoliation in the world, but if your sleep and mindset are off, nothing else works as well.
